Check out the official military site of the branch you are interested in joining and see what jobs they have that peak your interest. (Or, you may be more interested in the job itself and not have a preference for any particular branch of service..) Talk to friends and family that have served, if available/possible. Talk to a recruiter lastly, but keep this in mind: the recruiter's JOB is to talk you into JOINING. That is like walking to a Toyota dealership and asking the salesman: "Do you recommend Toyotas?"..... OF COURSE they have a JOB for you... they question is, will you enjoy doing that military job? that is where you have to decide for yourself. Ask PLENTY of questions and from multiple sources so you get all the facts to make a informed decision.

I would first visit the website of the branch you are considering joing. Next have a talk with someone currently serving and ask them any question you might have. Finally, talk to a recruiter.
