Nobody knows! But if it is the path God chose for you, and if you believe that you can't think of anything else but to sing country/folk music, then by all means, put all your energy into it.Just be ready to not make money first and persevere. Practice a lot (singing and instruments), write a lot of music, record a lot of music. Sing in any band and opportunity that is willing to feature you. If you have the voice, personality, talents, and extremely good work ethics, then you'll need good marketing and right people in the industry.

But if you are not okay with not making money for, let's say, the first 10 years, then be ready to have a degree where you can make some money first, and meanwhile keep writing and recording your music.
