There are a a number of careers you could go into it all depends in what you like and far you are willing to go when furthering your career. Base in what you stated I would suggest Psychology, but if you are not willing to get a Master's in Psychology then you may be limited on the doors that can open for you. There are several options Working with kids as a Guidance Counselor, or you could become a Clinical Psychologist (Master's). You could do Drug and Alcohol counselor, either way the state determines the level education needed to acquire a license.

The ability to listen is great, but that does not mean you need to pigeon hole yourself into one. There are many careers you can select that help people, but to assist you I need more information about you because the qualities you mentioned are good, but will they transfer to others with different experiences. This is a good place to begin. I hope this helps, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.
