My friend, you must follow the things you find interesting as you progress with work or a career. The objective in life is to be happy. If you are doing things you find fulfilling, your ability to be happy is greatly increased. But also, you're in the 8th grade. Do not worry about what your job in life will be too much yet. I promise you, you'll figure it out in time. I don't think most people really know what they want to do the rest of their lives at such a young age. God knows I didn't. But like I said before, the objective is to be happy. When you're happy, it will ignite you to do good work.

I would first start by saying you have a ton of time to figure out what you want to do. My best advice would be to do many different things (volunteer, job, ect.) and see what you actually like. Don't get in to big of a hurry out there. There is nothing worse that doing something for a while and realize you do not like it. Do what you enjoy; life is to short to not be happy with what you do.
