I am thoroughly interested in getting a job involved with sports. I can talk about sports tell stats up and down and I'd like to make a career out of something I love. However it seems unrealistic sometimes and appears it may be to risky to spend money at college to pursue such a longshot idea in sports. For me the hardest part of college is figuring out what to go to school for.

It's only unrealistic if that's your mindset. Most colleges have an athletic department. You could go and intern or volunteer to get your start. It's definitely hard to break in, but attitude and hard work goes a long way. The other thing is if you were to go into sports management or communications, you don't necessarily have to stick to sports. A lot of people find different paths once their out of college so it wouldn't be a huge risk.
