First, my answer would depend on how old you are, and at what stage of education. A good idea in general is to use internships to get to know different fields. One suggestion might be to create a LinkedIn account and explore its search filters to find people in your area that do things you find interesting, then send them a note to see if they would tell you about their work over lunch/phone/email. Be ready with questions to ask in advance.

If you are in high school, maybe you could ask staff if they know about any volunteer opportunities at medical facilities. If you are in college there would likely be counselors and professors with expertise in many fields who could help you.

Studying with the goal of becoming a doctor is usually a good idea though, because if you aim high you'll always have options.
