Experiment, experiment, experiment. Shadow as many professionals as possible before "choosing". Also, the term choose is used loosely because you don't have to set your eyes on one career that will last you a lifetime. Even though researchers can't pinpoint how many careers people have on average in their lifetimes, their is no harm (in my opinion) in testing the waters early on. You need to determine quality v. quantity, meaning something that is going to make you happy as opposed to something that is going to make you a lot of money (but not be fulfilling to you) at the end of the day.
