What are the best ways to finance me through my BA degree, without having to take out a loan?

I am currently thinking about going to a college in New York to get a degree in Graphic Design and I am wondering about the financial side of things.

I would recommend that you research schools that offer scholarships for merit. This research takes time, but that is how I essentially went through graduate school because without scholarships, it would not have been possible for me to go forward. Also you may consider going to a community college for two years to save on tuition, and then transfer to the college you want. This second option likely means that you will have to take student loans, but at least you won't have to take out as large one as if you went to a four-year college for four years. Also, once you are at a community college, depending on the college, there are transfer scholarships to four-year schools for which you may qualify. You will have to maintain a certain GPA and there may be other restrictions. It is definitely not impossible, but you have to be organized about the whole process. Best of luck with your search!
