Authenticity is overrated. You write, therefore you are a writer. Nothing else is really relevant, though there are a lot of false benchmarks people put in place.
If you can't finish a book, try a drabble: just 100 words. Try a short story. The more practice you get the easier it'll be to actually finish a book when you get an idea for something novel-length.
